Here's What Lost Item Found Does...

Lost Item Found provides a means for certain lost and found items to be returned to their owners.  Lost keys, PDA devises, MP3 Players, cell phones, eye glass cases are an every day event. “In 2005, more than 85,000 phones, 21,000 PDAs and Pocket PCs were lost in Chicago taxis. Passengers even left about 4,500 notebooks behind.” ( PCWORLD Feb. 2005) It is inevitable that we will lose one of these items, perhaps more than once in our lifetime. Lost Item Found is dedicated to getting these items back to the rightful owners.

When you sign up, there is a separate, renewable service fee that provides you with either  tags for keys or labels for other items. The term of the service for both tags and labels is one year, or a maximum of 2 findings, whichever comes first. (A finding is defined as a lost item that has been found and returned to you). Lost Item Found can’t make any guarantees. We rely on the general honesty of the person who finds your lost item. 

The unique identifier key tags that we provide to you will direct the finder to put the keys in the US mail, and they will be addressed to our post office box to protect your privacy. Found keys must be able to fit into the opening slot of a US Postal Service mail box. Postage expenses will be guaranteed by Lost Item Found. Once we receive the keys, we will mail them back to you using first class US mail service.

The unique identifier labels that we provide to you will direct the finder to contact Lost Item Found through our toll free number. We recognize that some potential lost items are fragile and require a method of return that is different from regular mail. That’s why we direct the finder to call our toll free number when your item is found. We will contact you, and establish the method you prefer to have your item returned. We will make the return arrangements on your behalf. Everyone’s privacy is maintained. Return delivery costs are yours to pay. Because there is extra effort on the part of the finder, we will offer them both the key tag and label service for free for 6 months.
